    Cannot install windows with CD

Hello, i have iso file of windows 7 and i burnt this file to dvd with nero and tried reinstalling windows with this CD. I selected F9 at startup and got boot menu on screen...then i select CDROM and press enter and the pc boots to default windows which was already installed instead of going to windows setup. I then created a bootable usb disk with this windows iso file and then i could install windows on the computer using this bootable usb without any problem. I dont mind installing windows with usb but i want to solve this problem of computer not installing windows with DVD. Someone please help me out....thanks

[1] Have you tried burning the ISO to a DVD using the Windows 7 built in ISO burner and installing from that?
[2] Instead of selecting F9 at startup, did you try changing the boot order in the BIOS to boot from the DVD first?

Tired with windows burner, same problem. I select CDROM from boot F9 but it goes on booting windows instead of setting up...plan to redownload file again, maybe its corrupt in some ways. Also configured boot order for CDROM to boot first still same problem

I doubt it is the ISO because you managed to create a bootable USB from it!

It could be your DVD player is faulty!

Tried the CD with 2 computers same problem...ill give it a go to redownload the file and check it out. Forgot to mention i previously used powerISO to burn iso to DVD and also to create a bootable USB drive...could powerISO be the culprit?

How did you burn it you have to load the iso as a file then burn it if you copy it and end up the a iso file on the cd it wont boot as iso is like a disk image. When you view files on the cd what have you got?

Use this, and stop saying CD, W7 will not fit on a CD and it will not Boot from a CD ROM, I know they are just words, but you have to know what you`re doing

If you have no problems creating a USB Installer than don`t even bother with a DVD, it`s a waste of money.

Here`s great free burner you can use, works perfectly every time.

    Free ISO Burner

And if you want, download a fresh Iso, but I don`t think that`s your problem either.

    TechBench by WZT (v4.1.1)

Also, if you do burn to a DVD, burn it at the slowest possible speed. (Important)

If you used the Iso file on a USB stick and it works, than your DVD is a bad burn, you tried it on 2 other drives and it did not work so there`s your proof.

I am glad that you have solved your issue.

Was it AddRAM's solution. I only ask because other people visiting this thread that have the same problem/issue/question can benefit and learn from your experience.

    Thanks.

No it was not addRams solution. I was burning windows on DVD+R which was the problem, I burnt windows on DVD-R and it booted successfully on the pc 😊👍
    Hope this helps other people
