Was unable to get mcadiag to run, then it disappeared. Either the hd drive was on way out or a virus/malware caused issues, basically I couldnít get it to do anything from desktop.

Now installing totally fresh on a new hd

Roy, when I activate win 7 am I using the 5x5 digit code on the label on the side?or as you seemed to be implying should I be using something else?

Hi Joe,

it is possible that validation was checking during the time you had both drives connected, and caused this
hence your comment -- currently old drive not connected and as yet no message.

just in case recheck the key you've input
note the following invalid Numbers/letters 0,1,5, and A,E,I,L,N,O,S,U, and Z
