Returning Windows 10 Pro to Windows 7 Pro on my two Dells

new here . . . I just got Windows 10 on two computers, and it has driven me crazy for the last month.

I want to remove the two SSDs with Win 10 on them.

I have two new unused Samsung SSDs and want to install them both in my two new computers and then install Windows 7 Pro on both computers.

My question is: Will this work smoothly? Does Windows 10 do anything to the BIOS setup when it is installed that will interfere with my going back to Windows 7?

Welcome to the forum. It may have secure boot set the only question is are the win7 new legal copies if they were used as the upgrade to 10 they may not activate

Yes, both Win 7 Pro copies are legal, bought them many years back from Microsoft and have used them both in many computers. They are both 64 bit also.

Someone told me Windows 10 alters the BIOS and stuff . . . I just don't want to end up with two dead computers. So that's why I was thinking Win 7 clean install on both SSDs . . . then I still have the two Windows 10 SSDs and later on play around with it.

I just do not have the time right now for more Windows 10 learning. I need my Win 7s back to do some things.

If as you say have used them both in many computers its possible they wont activate you can only use on 1 pc unless you have a vl

I'm going to try it in one computer and see how it goes.

I just now used Acronis True Image 2019 and backed them both up.

I'll let you know in a day or two what happens. Don't have time to fool with them right now.

A fair few Dell PRO machines came with downgrade rights to W7
Looked at the drivers available for the 9010 they are available, so that part shouldnt be a problem

Its actually been updated until January 2016 and unlike Microsoft's 2010 .iso contains IE11, USB 3 drivers and Storage Controller drivers for up to 6th generation Intel Skylake Systems


Further if your machines are eligable for the downgrade using the above media should NOT require you to use your Extra keys, which should either be Retail or System builder licences.
