    Win7 pro to win7 home

Have had a dell pc vostro320 professional dumped on me. (Beautiful condition)

Owner doesn't have the win7 pro disc.
    Owner doesn't have the password.
The pc has the windows sticker on the reverse showing the password.

Can I install a new copy of Win7 Home on this pc and use the sticker for winpro to activate winhome?

    Tks in advance.

    NO you can't!

You can only install Win 7 Home on it if you have a legitimate Win 7 Home Product Key and the Win 7 Home is NOT installed on another computer!

    Hey Paul,
Have you found any Win7 ISO download locations besides the two above?

If you have a Pro license, it will only activate a Pro installation.

Any MS installation media contains all the editions. if you have e.g home premium iso file. you can access the other editions by removing the ei.cfg file.

One way is to point eicfg remover at the iso file. That is very simple.

    eicfg_removal_utility.zip

There are other ways, but the eicfg remover takes a fraction of a second, and your iso can then be used to install any edition you choose.

from your earlier post, it sounds like you have a home premium iso already.

Thanks for all replies which have been taken on board and, would you @@@@**** believe it, the owner has found her password.
Have found in excess of 9000 jpegs which she wants transferred to dvds ( a mixture of portrait and landscape of course) and wants me to fix them all to landscape. I DON'T THINK SO !!!!.
Once again, my thanks to all.

I think they are getting fewer now and far harder to source them. Well, the legitimate ones anyway!
