    Hi RolandJS,

I saw NET framework 3.5 awhile back working with audacity; now I am up to Nf4.8?
[1] Thanks for checking that out, I hope the OP appreciates it.
[2] So are we saying that Audacity should work on all versions of .NET Framework?
[3] I don't know why Debby didn't run the batch script like I asked her to!
[4] I have also asked her several times to correctly update her system specifications!

Audacity is available for download in more than one location, some are more reliable than others

the official downloaders are available at Download | Audacity (R) and these installers should download or prompt/Inform/download any missing DLL files

I always advise strongly that the original developers site is always used in preference to the many "Download" sites, which can often add unwanted extras and are also often confusing and can easily lead to the less experienced user downloading the wrong items

I would suggest that the OP tries the link I have provided and if there is still the issue to follow @Paul Black 's instructions to find out what is missing on the system

Note, The audacity site does include some click buttons to donate to help the further development, this is totally optional and you should never need to Buy the software

Hi! That's very good advice - I can tell - to say to only download from the creator of a program if possible! Thanks for reminding me! I am now downloading Windows updates, before it can be safe to download Audacity. That made sense for a couple other programs I downloaded, like Malawarebytes and Ccleaner, today - on that computer. And CCleaner wasn't able to download correctly until I had downloaded Malawarebytes and run a scan with it.

Hi! Good news! I finally figured out how to get the problem fixed! I have a tired brain. But here's what I finally did that make it install correctly: I put the computer in safe mode, after having downloaded Audacity. Then clicked on it to install it while in safe mode - and a miracle happened - it is now correctly installed on my computer! Thanks for all of your efforts to be of help to me in this!
