nvme boot on a x58 motherboard

I have an old gigabyte x58 motherboard that I wish to boot with a pci-e nvme evo 970 disk.

As this motherboard doesn't provide uefi boot I've tried without luck emulating it with this page
Forum - [Guide] NVMe-boot for systems with legacy BIOS and older-UEFI (DUET-REFIND)

Any better way ? (until I buy myself a newer motherboard)

Plextor M8PEY Nvme PCIe on x58 motherboard booting to windows

Shows up just like a normal drive in the windows installer thanks to the legacy mode that lets it show up as an AHCI drive for legacy BIOS instead of an NVMe drive for UEFI BIOS.
    According to the comments,

I did find a 950 pro and it's working in my P6X58D-E, I confirmed from another guy on overclock.net that the M9PEY does NOT work with x58. Just fwiw.
