There is no reason anymore to do all this, since fixing the mbr using bootsect.exe /nt60 sys already did the trick for me. But I doubt the grubloader is causing any problem. Easybcd itself put it there, it was put there after Vista but before the RC and there was never any problem booting the system. And there is no problem anymore now, either. I have a running windows 7 install, a running vista, and, if I want, ubuntu on an external drive. I see no reason to remove any component. Remember, before I repaired the MBR, I could not boot ANYthing. And after I repaired it, everything is back the way it was before the trouble started. I'm going to leave well enough alone... But thanks for your interest and follow-up. It certainly helped.
