    Install seven on dell 7490

    Hello,
I have an dell 7490 with i7 8650u core and 16gb of ram. For work requirements I need to install windows seven, but I'm having difficulty in the operation.
In the start-up phase, I get an error acpi compliant, etc ... etc ...
I read online that the architecture of the cpu does not allow the management by the old SO
I don't think it's impossible ... I wanted to know if there is a solution to the problem.

Sorry for my bad english ... use google translate.

    Thanks in advance.

Win7 runs great on kabylake and coffeelake cpus.

The error message is due to something else.

"Enable Legacy Option ROMs" must be enabled in BIOS for Windows 7

Win7 driver for Dell Latitude 7490 touchpad

There is also a graphics driver from biostar which supports those cpus here:

I used the procedure you proposed and was able to start installing windows 7.
The problem is that it does not find the chipset drivers and therefore does not see the hard disk. Do you know where I can find them?

I don't understand your last post.

What kind of disk have you got in that machine?

Maybe I can't explain myself well as I use the google translator. I have to install win 7 on a 7490 dell, but once the operation is completed the computer does not boot.

In the original bios the booting from internal HD in legacy mode has been disabled, therefore it is possible to use only the uefi mode, which seven does not support.

So to start the PC with seven you need to create an external device bootable (sd, penusb) to keep connected that will start the PC with seven.

The link I added to the previous post explains how to solve the problem.

    That's all.
