    New load/Custom Build

new build. only operating system i own is win 7. upon initial boot, i have control of keyboard/mouse. when the system boots off cd and gets to the win 7 screen, keyboard/mouse lose power but cdrom (external) has it. i have updated bios. i have ensured legacy usb support is enabled.

    motherboard: aorus x570 elite

    there are no ps2 ports.

is there a way to keep usb2.0 ports enable for keyboard/mouse or am i screwed and need to buy win10?

    Welcome to the Forum.
Your MB has a AMD X570 chipset. Don't know if it's possible to install win 7 on it.
New hardware needs some drivers (USB 3.x, SATA, MVMe) that are not on the Win 7 installation disk. You need to add those drivers to the Win 7 installation disk.
Have a look at this tools:
Update your Win 7 installation media.
Integrate7 script – automatically download and slipstream all updates!
