Restoration of Windows 7 RAID 1 (Mirror)

I have two questions based upon the following:

PC 64 bit AMD processor running Windows 7
1 SSD has the Win 7 OS c:

There was initially 1 1 TB HD e: to which the users folder had been moved during setup using sysprep

To this was added a second identical 1 TB HD

I created a "software" RAID 1 mirror of the 1 TB data drive so there are now two dynamic discs containing the data e:

I use both Acronis and Macrium to do separate backups of both the OS and DATA dynamic volumes (I don't trust either of them - just being thorough. I have done restorations with both.

    1) I have not yet had an OS failure with the dynamic RAID mirror set. Should the OS fail and I restore it, I am assuming that I will not have a problem once the OS is restored to the same or another SSD in the same PC. Is this a correct assumption?

    2) Should there be a catastrophic failure, can one of the data dynamic volumes be read on another PC? Could it be converted to a basic disk to read the data.....or.....would one put it in another PC and create another RAID mirror to retrieve the data?

I also have a Windows and programs on a SSD and \users on a HDD (D:).
If you did a disk image backup of the SSD and on an event you need to restore C: to another SSD or HDD, there will be no issues.
I have once created a RAID 1 array and as I remember one is exactly the same as the other and can be read independently of the other.
