The drive is brand new, fresh out of the box. And considering Iím getting the same failed results that my previous attempts yielded on other drives, Iíd go out on a limb and say itís safe to assume the drive is not the culprit.

Ther are others that have installed7 on that mobo. Trying to find odd drivers e.g. sound afterwards, but no problems with the installation process were reported as far as I can tell.

Not clear what your problem is. some examples:

No audio output device installed

Intel DQ965GF

New Windows 7 Install and Missing Drivers

Windows 7 x64 enterprise on an Intel DQ965gf motherboard. Need help with two unknown devices

this is odd

The main problem I’m having right this second is that since 7 never booted, every time I power up it’s going to Windows Error Recovery immediately after bios, and bypassing my flash drive and my dvd drives, no matter what I have my boot order set as in bios. So I’m not getting the “press any key to boot from usb/dvd”, I’m just getting the “windows failed to start” and asking me if I want to launch Startup Repair or start windows normally.

I have a dvd of genuine W7 iso that I dl from Microsoft, and a flash bootable drive with the same iso made with the windows usb/dvd tool thingy they have to download to make a bootable flash drive with.

Maybe I should set a 5 second delay on the SSD in bios to give it a chance to catch the usb or dvd boot?

Detach the HDD from the MB (SATA o power cable) leaving on only the USB drive with the Win 7 installation files.
Does it boot from the USB drive?

Ok guys, thanks for the effort, but I think the problem is solved... even though intel had W7 drivers available for this motherboard, apparently this mobo is not compatible with W7/10 according to the intel compatability spreadsheet I just found. So thereís my answer. Why on earth
They would have drivers for this board for an operating system that isnít supported, I have no clue. And Iím pretty positive Iíve read several posts where people were running 7 and even 10 on this mobo, so I really donít understand. So Iím now looking to find a new motherboard that will meet my requirements. Iím looking at an asus p5p43td pro right now.

If you are going to change it, why stick with the ancient lga775 ?

You can pick up lga 1155 ( ivybridge) very cheaply now. A big leap up from 775.

In the UK lga1155 motherboards are £30-£40. Quad core ivybridge processor about £18 -25. 4gb ddr3 ram about £6.

Presumably, you already have a case and power supply.

Thanks, I’ll look into that then. I’m just familiar with the 775 so I hadn’t looked outside of that yet.

Moving from 775 to ivybridge is a massive improvement.

The boards are called things like B75 or H77 or Z77 ( the Z77 have overclocking etc ). They have usb3 and sata 3.

A cheap 2 core 4 thread i3-3220 or similar is about £3-£7. Even that is much better than an old 775 socket cpu.

UserBenchmark: Intel Core i3-3220 vs Core2 Duo E8600

Quad core ivybridge i5-3470 or i5 -3570 are obviously better still.

In Europe and Australia, cex is good for this kind of stuff. People go into the stores and trade in their old systems. They are tested and guranteed. With the lockdown, obviously they are running out of stock

looks like they are running low on the cheap i3-3220 at the moment. Only a handful left

But they still have quad core i5-3470 and i5-3570
