    That is news to me.
    Hi SIW2
I recently installed win xp sp2 on a laptop and it is not possible to use an sp1 disk with an sp2 product key. Likewise, it is not possible to use an sp2 disc with an sp1 product key.
So I am curious to test if they have removed that lock in sp3 so that it is possible to use product keys from xp first edition, xp sp1 edition and xp sp2 edition

    Edit:
maybe it's a special thing on the swedish edition of win xp

There is no XP license key specific to sp3. If you have one for sp 1, 2, or the RTM it'll work on 3. However good luck activating it. They might have stopped automatic activations.
Automatic activation has been off for several years, but you can still activate by phone.

Thanks for the links but I want to install a Swedish version.
Do you know if these ISOs are original and not hacked with backdoors and viruses and misery?

What you're after is to slipstream the driver/s into the OS. For years ever since I've been on tech forums, nLite was always mentioned. If this is not the program you tried, then read here

I find it interesting that after all these years of using XP that SATA drivers were required. I know that they were, but when I ran a Dell desktop and used the SATA I cables, I don't recall using a driver at all. But it's been years and I simply don't remember. I may in fact have used the PATA port and installed the SATA driver and then connected the drive to the SATA I port.

Tidbit of the day. Many people of the day and maybe even still today interchangeably said IDE when they referred to a PATA drive. In fact, IDE both describes PATA and SATA. PATA being the parallel port interface and SATA being the serial port interface. Never the less, they both fall under the IDE interface. Parallel ATA - Wikipedia

The laptop manufacturer may have an OEM OS install disk that can be had on eBay.

I am not very familiar with xp, as far as I can tell the en iso is:

    en_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_x14-80428.iso

So I would guess that if you search for:

    sv_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_x14-80492.iso

    SHA1 Hash 5060d593c8eac1d9875f5fd6f23691706abc5460

You might find it. Sometimes it easier searching for the hash
