    Hello Team,

This is my first message here that i am having 3 problem.

    1. I want to open the boot options in my dell laptop but when dell logo appears i press f12 as it is written there then nothing happens i want to change the boot settings. I also tried delete button but nothing happens. and even setup which opens by pressing f2 also not working..please help guys.

    2. As per Windows 7 upgrade assistant guide i have lastly insert DVD of Upgrade assistant to upgrade drivers and other things but when i click on next then it freezes and giving Microsoft .NET Frame Unhandled Exception. What is this problem? I want to upgrade my drivers from CD but it is giving error. So please help me out guys.

    3. This problem is related to 2 point that as i wrote that i am unable to upgrade drivers so i tried to find out drivers for Windows 7 32 bit on Dell site. But when i saw Dell site have drivers for only Windows 7 64bit.. So now what can i do? I can't install drivers and because of driver problems laptop is not working properly and i can't download drivers for Studio 1555 for windows 7 32 bit from site because it is not available.

    So please do needfull.

    1) Try tapping the esc, f1 and f2 key repeatedly.

    3) Which drivers are missing? Normally Windows 7 installer provides almost all of the drivers except for very exotic hardware. If you have hardware in the Device Manager missing drivers, then Google the precise name of the hardware for drivers.

Call Dell and ask about the missing driver page and #1 and #2. If your computer is out of warranty, they may at least provide quick answers either by phone support or chat.

There are also some Dell experts around here so hopefully they will see this if you keep it bumped.

It sounds like you have an Upgrade Kit from Dell, which would mean the computer is still under Warranty and includes tech support. Call them to get these issues fixed.

Most people are reporting they don't even need the driver disk after using the Windows 7 upgrade DVD to clean install. The Windows 7 DVD has almost all drivers. But you may have carried over some bad drivers from Vista in doing an in-place Upgrade and not a clean install.

Look in your Device Manager (right click Computer>Manage>Device Manager) and report back which hardware is missing drivers.

Hi Ankur and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

Here is a link to the technicl support page for your laptop: Dell Technical Support Home Page / Dell Troubleshooting Search

This is for the service manual: Documentation

Look at the section Coin-Cell Battery and see if removing/replacing it clears your problem with accessing the function keys on boot.

You could also see their forums: Forums - DELL COMMUNITY to see if someone there has had a similar problem, and what they have done to overcome it.

    I have one solution.

    Hi Ankur,
Today I was getting similar problem. It got solved. Go to Windows mobility center. There you will find option for Function key row. Select function key.

Even though I was pressing Fn + F12, it was not working. After modifying it, it's working now.

Reboot and press F12 like before.
