That is what is driving me nuts, the older PC runs fast on everything, plays any game I throw at it, has been great Until I go to shut it down at night. I have looked everywhere I could think of to try to find the problem, dump files and the error number, but nothing concrete. i want to know why so I can correct it . I had some weird trouble with USB hub a while back, everything is working OK now. I don't believe it is hardware failure, because the shut down is the only trouble I have seen. That leaves software corruption or a bug.

I did install Startback on the Windows 10 PC and it is a bit better, I guess i just don't like the way the access is changed from what we have been used to. I read where that is supposed to be less and less as each edition of Windows is introduced. Microsoft wants us to let them lead us around by the nose and have control of everything by popular now and trending suggestions , since to them we are just sheep anyway.

I want to say I am very appreciative of all the information you have given me here. I can see where I maybe I am being biased on Win 7. The dual boot could be a way to test if both OS will work on the new build. By the way , nice PC builds and thanks for sharing them with me. I see I still have much to learn. My wife's new PC has Win 11 on it and I am seeing much more about the new Windows .

I have some work to do starting with a fresh/refresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 on the old PC and look at trying to dual boot the new computer.

Than you Mister Ed for your time and information
