How to install Factory.wim

Hello guys ,i have a old dell xps 8100 i brought decade ago this is my intertainment pc i called myself trying to install the factory.wim , i tried diffrent methods including renaming the factory.wim to install.wim and add it to windows install ,it installed but wouldn't boot up i then tried winpe and apply the image also wouldn't boot up . So i ask if anyone no how i did search the forum but wasnt able to find or understand the procedure i dont have a disk i did but through out the years can seem too find it if anyone knows i appreciate the help hell ill even go remote assistance if possible. Thankyou for you quick reply ,but I have windows 7 home premium if I update to a different is version the sound won't be the same thats why i want to restore to factory this pc came with THX pro studio and a pacific Realtek drive that only works on this pc i in fact kept it so long i have a dell xps 8930 which dont sound like 8100 i was able to make another drive and apply the image it boots but how do i get rid of the other os and update bcb

Select the largest image to install. If I remember correctly, it is the second image in factory.wim . But it will be very old, it might not even include Service Pack 1.

It is probably better to use the more recent Dell media for your pc. The dell media is a very big download about 7gb because it is multilanguage.

the M drive is really C drive some how i have to do what did on m drive and turn it to c drive again

Thats correct I'm trying to reverse that though

No I don't need anything on partion 1 at all please tell me how to do that

If you are sure you dont need anything on partition 1, you could clone or migrate the os on partition2 to where partition1 is .
