Inplace upgrade fail. Mouse and Keyboard not working

I was repairing my Windows 7 x 64, ultimate Sp 1. (I cannot go for a clean install because I am using certain software with licence supplied by my previous employer). The windows repair started well and went up to the point where you enter the product key. Here my USB mouse and keyboard stopped working. I am stuck at this screen. Re starting do not make any difference. It always comes to the same screen. I have my product key but cannot input it. I am effectively locked out of my PC.
I have already checked system drive for errors and found ok. Mtest was also ok. Any help would be highly appreciated.
This is my first post. If it is in the wrong section, Mods please move it to the correct forum. Thanks

    Hi,,

i take it you've read the tutorial
    Repair Install

As you mentioned the previous employers software licences, is/was your comp linked to thier server, if so then please check your user profile setting, see the last 2 exceptions in the warnings section of the tut.
It also states that system repair discs cannot be used ---
(where did you get your ISO, could possibly be corrupt, or been sysprepped)

    Welcome to the Forum.

Please edit your profile with ALL your hardware specs. It will help us to help you
System Info - See Your System Specs

New hardware requires some drivers (SATA, USB3.x and NVMe) that are not on the Win 7 installation files. You have to add them to the Win 7 installation files.
This would explain why you don't have mouse and / or keyboard.

You can slipstream the drives (SATA, USB3.x and NVMe) to the drive so you can continue the repair install.

Sorry for the late response. Was down with fever. Now let me answer to both the responses together. The licences that I am using are for stand alone softwares. ( My Previous employer stopped design business and moved to contracting. I requested to him to permit me to continue using these )I cannot enter my PC in any way. whenever you re start, it will display"....setting up for first use" then It displays the page where you have to enter your key. I Had slipstreamed all updates till Jan 21 to a usb which I have used as a installation usb stick. I can access bios and keyboard and mouse works fine. But as it progress both these devices stop working. One thing I forgot to mention is that I had used my original windows DVD to do inplace repair.
    My Specs are : GA-970A-DS3P rev1.0 Mobo
    Gskill ripjaw 8 gb x 2 Ram
    SapphireR7 240 gpu
    Antec vp 650 plus psu
    AMD FX 8320 Cpu
    Dell Optical mouse
    Zebronics K20 wired Keyboard
Three HDDs 1 Tb each formatted in MBR

I know it is a driver issue but do not know how to resolve it. There was no warnings as far as I remember. I think I have been coherent enough. Thanks for you responses.

From the GA-970A-DS3P specs you have 6 ports USB 2.0/1.1 on the back panel and 2 ports USB 3.0/2.0 on the back panel.

Make sure your keyboard and mouse is installed on the one of the 6 ports USB 2.0/1.1 and NOT on one of the USB 3.0/2.0.

Thanks a lot to all who have spend their time to help me. I was hospitalized for a week and could not touch my PC. When I was locked up at the hospital, my nephew some how managed to set it right. When I rang him up he says that he has restored the installation from a backup. I do not remember backing up my PC anytime recently. Well it is working for now. Once again thanks. I am marking this thread as solved.
