Dell 7060 - is it possible? How? ACPI error.

Greetings, everyone.

I happened to have a Dell 7060 fall into my lap for a song. I need to know if it's somehow possible, through whatever trickery, to get WIN7 installed on it. If not, I'll repair my 9020 and use that, instead. I would like the 7060 for the six-core processor, if I can get it. It has an internal SSD of 512GB, but I also have a few spare platter HDD's lying around, and a portable hard drive as well that's not being used, if I need to install it somewhere else and just migrate the WIN7'd hard drive to the new chassis.

I have the issue of an ACPI error when I try to load the WIN7 installer through the USB (2.0) port from a flash drive directly on to the 7060. I'm getting the 0x0~A5 error, specifically. I've searched the forums and found similar, but not same, cases of hardware issues. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get! Even if it's a "No, this will never work, no matter what you do."

Okay, so, the answer is a firm "NO! IS NOT POSSIBLE!"

And there's no fun little hacks available to make this possible, either.

I have heard that you're pretty much the authority on this sort of thing, so I'll take your word at it. Thank you very much for responding to my inquiry. I will say, that page never came up in any of my Google/Bing/Startpage searches, and I've been looking for the last couple of days.

As a side question, would you know of any 6+ core processors that can be used with WIN7? Just wondering - something for the future.

Oh, I didn't know that. I read the posts that said it was impossible on a 7060 - I had no idea a Vostro 3670 even existed, let alone that it was the same thing with a different name.

So, I'm guessing, I take this TIBX file.. and.. install it on something, pop it in to my 7060, and it should work? After re-reading the entire thread (now that you pointed out the Vostro and the Dell are the same thing, it made more sense, I apologize for not making this connection sooner), I gather this is what I need to do?

Fascinating! I totally drew the wrong conclusion from that thread. Again, my apologies, and my sincerest thanks.

I apologise for this taking so long to confirm. The file is in TIBX format, and I'm having a heck of a time trying to find Acronis True Image. The website itself just gives me 403 errors, and I have no idea why.
