trying to install w7 on sata ssd, get recovery options

    trying to install w7 on sata ssd, get recovery options


    dvd drive with w7 sp1 connected. and sata ssd connected. it runs from dvd first, says loading files, then shows me a prompt for recovery options.

    whats going on? I dont have any other drive installed.

    have a look cmd prompt type notepad then use notepad file>save dialog to browse around

    yes, got to options like restore saved point recover and command prompt. typed notepad but then what..browse to what?

    why the heck isnt it wanting to install cleanly? why is it going to recover options ? the drive has windows 10 and its 2 months old but that shouldnt be an issue.

    If you used installation media boot.wim image 2 should boot up and winpeshl.exe launches setup.exe ( windows setup routine)

    It is winre.wim that contains an instruction for winpeshl.exe to launch recenv.exe (recovery environment )

    did you try typing x:\setup.exe at cmd prompt ?

    anyway my brother sent me a link for win7 with nvme in it from archive.org. mounting it on usb and will test it.

    I do not have a binary head. I can tweak with registry hosts services and other things but the side of tinkering you mention I get lost. ive looked over and over to install drivers into os disk and Im clueless

    its the only reason why I havent moved to linux. the side of knowing to code things.

    ok, updating this. FINALLY!! windows 7 installed on nvme!. pfew what a process. installed right away on nvme.

    im super happy. thanks for the help!.
