Have you seen this list of compatible computers for Windows 7? In other words if it's not on this list Acer is not supporting it. No support means no drivers for Windows 7.
Windows® 7 Upgrade Offer
No wonder your having problems.

Still, any drivers should do it. Just so the installation program can stfu... lol
If I manage to find drivers before tomorrow that would be.... terrific. I'm heading over to my friends apartment tomorrow and it's kind of a long way to go. I don't want to get there to see that all your suggestions have gone to waste.
So, I used an OEM disk with XP from 2001. It all worked fine, except I can't connect to the internet.... :-/
so you need to download the network drivers and install them on your laptop, you will have to either burn them to cd or put them on a usb drive, since your computer cant connect to the internet without them.
Well, I kinda couldn't find anything about what internet card of graphics card he has :-/
Run Belarc Advisor to audit all hard and software, then Google to find the drivers. Attachment 41794
These drivers should be on the product page for the model which we are unable to find with the model number supplied.
Hopefully Belarc will give you a more exact model number to search on Acer Support>Downloads site.
@gregrocker: Thanks. I'm going to try that.
@ccatlett1984: it's an acer aspire, I'm sure.
