Whey!
I removed that 2nd ram stick and it seems to be working fine now :)
Just another quick question: To install my graphics card, should I find/install the software for it first or just plug it back in?
Thank you all very much!

Windows 7 x64 finally!

Good catch Larry

Glad you got it working Doc. You should be able to plug the second memory stick now, but I would test it to see if no problems.

You should first plug the card, then have Windows 7 update the drivers. It usually does a very good job on that. If you want you can go to NVidia's website and download the latest drivers and aps too. I would make sure everything is working fine with the drivers Win7 installs automatically (and if so possibly make an image of your system) before installing NVidia's. I myself never had a problem with NVidia drivers (did have with ATI) but you never know.

Similar Problem on Mini 9

Hello All,

This is my first post. So, please bear with me. I am experiencing the same problems with the keyboard and mouse freezing.

I am trying to install 7 Pro 32-bit on my Dell Mini 9. Specs are as follows: Intel 945 Express Chipset, Intel GMA 950, 32GB STEC SSD (Mini PCIe), 1GB RAM. I used the Windows 7 USB DVD Tool to create a bootable USB drive using a Sandisk Cruzer Micro 4GB.

I am able to boot and get into the setup screen. I have tried several times and it always freezes at some point. The furthest I have gotten is "Expanding Files 0%". It has frozen as early as the black screen just after the splash. The keyboard and mouse both freeze, and from what I can tell the screen does as well.

I have searched a couple of different places and have found a couple of different reasons why this might be happening:

1) Windows Setup loses track of the primary drive, which I suppose is possible with my configuration.

2) UFD not compatible - but it boots and I used it to install Fedora 12 without any issues.

3) Memory Leak (seems unlikely).

4) NTFS filesystem on the UFD - what I suspect is the likely cause.

5) Yahoo answers says wait 6 hours and try again. Tried it. Didn't work the first few times. It's a bit unrealistic to keep waiting 6 hours every time it freezes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It runs on an oldish laptop that only has USB connectors (no PS/2). At the moment I don't have access to another...

Keyboard and mouse freeze up intermittently
Hello, I am helping somebody with this issue, which is a very odd issue. Her keyboard and mouse will both stop working at random times, there is no pattern to it, just complete random. Is there any tool to detect mouse/keyboard freeze and fix it?
I have an extremely frustrating problem: My 64-bit Win7 Pro SP1 system keeps running fine for hours, as long as I'm frequently interacting with it. But when I start a disk-intensive application that needs to run for 6-10 hours, when the task is about 90% complete, the system usually hangs/freezes...

USB Mouse and keyboard freeze simultaneously
The jist of the problem is as follows: Every now and then, my keyboard and mouse (USB) will both stop responding (my cursor just hangs there and I cannot control anything with the keyboard). The only remedy seems to be a hard reboot, holding the power button down. It can happen anywhere from once a...
