    move from 7-32 to 7-64

i had an old machine with 7 32 on it. i have since upgraded that machine with new motherboard and Core i5 chip so i want to put 7 64 on it. i threw in a brand new drive and installed 7 64 on it. so now i have one drive with 7 32 with all my files and settings and programs, and one drive with 7 64 all by it self. is there a way to move it all to the drive with 64? can i use the Easy Transfer wizard thing?

Not sure you would benefit from attempting the move, or that it would work on the basis proposed. What about programs designed to exploit 64 bit architecture which would outperfom those on your 32 bit archive? Another point would be the Windows installer on the 64 bit platform, as there would be no record of the programs that you'd have transferred in - but which were technically never installed... I think the only safe answer is don't go there...

    Hi Gisxer
Yes, you will need to use windows Easy Transfer, or copy the user files manually. WET will organize the files according to username etc, so I prefer it. You should be able to drag them from one drive to the other, but that might involve taking ownership and granting access to that drive.

You will have to reinstall all your programs either way
