    Can't boot 7 after xp

I installed xp after 7 was installed, both on separate drives. Now only xp boots. How do configure a dualboot screen?

    Thanks!

    hi!

i had the similar problem...try installing EasyBCD...then you can modify boot.ini file very easy...and you should the have both OS in boot menu...

post a note when you install it if you need any help.

Yes I do. I did not think about it. Are you referring to the command line: fixboot or fixmbr? I don't know how to do these things very well.

try to insert the cd and then repair windows xp installation...then it will ask you what you want to repair and i think there is something like repair boot file or something like that...i havent use xp for a long time.

To repair the win7 boot settings boot from the win7 install DVD and run a repair install - this should also find and include the XP install in the boot screen

You may have to run the repair more than once dependingg on how bad the corruption is

The basic rule for installing Multiple operating systems is to always install the oldest first then in age order to the newest

EasyBCD will add XP to dual boot with Win7 when XP is installed last, however in order to use EasyBCD in XP you need to install Net Framework 2.0.

Then click Add/Remove tab and add XP by name, type and correct drive letter.

If this fails, boot into Windows 7 and run a Repair Install from the desktop which will reconfigure the boot menu correctly: Repair Install
