boot problems!please need help!

    i know but its not...i boot windows 7 really good but if i try to boot something else on cd or dvd or even flash drive BOOTMGR is missing...damn.

    Try removing your hard drive. See what happens.

    so...what are you thinking...if i replace bootmgr file good thing or bad thing...boot ubuntu or boot nothing...

    Unfortunately it's not as easy as uploading bootmgr for you. if it was, you'd already have it.

    I'm very confused about this one, maybe i rushed in before, i apologise :)

    You say you are able to boot into Windows 7 normally correct?

    You have changed the BIOS boot order to DVD > HDD xxx > xxx correct?

    When you try and boot into another setup (whether it be USB, DVD, whatever) you get the error message "bootmgr is missing", correct?

    If all above are correct then this is one of the weirdest issues i have ever heard of that's for sure!

    Can you post a screenshot of your disk management in Windows 7 please?

    You may also try installing ubuntu via Wubi. It's an excellent tool. You can install it in your current Windows installation or on a seperate partition (recommended).
