Again if you are not a regular tester you have limited availability and cannot simply download what isn't ocnsidered for public release.

Windows 7 Build 7048 Labeled Release Candidate 1 (RC1)

It is all speculation at this point in time

The first Release Candidate of Windows 7 is beginning to take contour. Following the availability of Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 for the general public on January 10, 2009, and the discontinuation of all downloads on February 12, there has been nothing but complete radio silence from Microsoft on the development of the next iteration of Windows. Still, it is undeniable that the Redmond company is making consistent headway building Windows 7, and that the development process has already moved past the Beta stage to the Release Candidate branch. Leaked information from testers now reveals that Windows 7 Build 7048 carries the Release Candidate 1 (RC1) label. me thinkest I'll be waiting to see if that holds up and sees a public release since that will be through the normal channels there. Plus I just ran across a 64bit updates for MS peripherals apparently just added for Vista 64bit updates as well as for the Windows 7 beta versions. If that becomes publicly available then you will have the choice of either 32bit or 64bit or both. That would be a step forward rather then simply trying to borrow? a copy of 7 32bit from a select group of testers in that sense to the original question. 7 will be past the beta stage from then on.

Im still confused... you can simply download the x64 or the x86 versions of build 7000 from connect........ all the poster wanted was build 7000 x64.

The only other option is 7022 x64 or x86 via torrent but they were never officially released to the public.

The build your posting about above has not been leaked or released yet.

The deadline for seeing the 7000 build was 2/12 while the product keys for both 32bit and 64bit will remain posted at the former download page of each there. The availability of 7000 was simply between 1/9 and 1/12 there unless you find some questionable site(I'll put it that way) where someone still has a link for it posted.

From the looks of things now it seems that the 7048 supposedly RC1 will be limited to internal testers only and likely a few software developers and may not see a public release of that. As far as trying to download from connect you still end up at...

As i keep saying you can still download the files from microsoft connect (the invite code is even posted on this site), now, after the date you say!?

I know you can't get it from the original beta page anymore.

All it takes is a simple search and connect.microsoft.com is clearly not "some questionable site".

If you are not an internal tester or have a paid subscription this is what you will run into when running a search and clicking on any 7 download links.
