Windows 7 ultimate crash

HI, i would really like some help because this is beyond my understanding or anything I have seen/heard so far.
I have been trying to install windows 7 ultimate on my PC and it installs fine, does the network set-up and all that and when it is done and it says welcome, it immediately goes to "shutting down", it restarts and does not boot to OS. it remains at "verifying DMI POOL DATA" and the flickering underscore. it is a clean install, i have tried both x86 and x64 install. and guess what?! it has the exact same problem when installing VISTA ( any vista). i am pretty much stuck on XP.
i have installed with this same windows 7 ultimate cd on my laptop and it works perfectly, therefore I KNOW for sure it;s not a bad version ( i am typing from my laptop on windows 7 ultimate right now)
i have set BIOS to factory default, and nothing changes it. what is very bizzare is the fact that both my laptop and my pc are ACER, same year, and they both came with VISTA, but the PC does not work with anything more than XP right now.
anyways here are my specs for the PC

ACER AM5100
AMD 9500 phenom quad core
3 gig DDR2
ATI radeon HD2400Pro

any ideas?

Check here for info about verifiying pool data. Computer stops at verifying dmi pool data....

none of these apply to my situation.
if i install windows xp it works no problem.. this problem only arises with VISTA or Windows 7
the only possibility would be corrupt boot files but i cannot create a floppy because 1.NONE OF MY COMPUTERS CARRY A FLOPPY DISK
2. the article about creating a boot disk only goes to windows XP, and i need WINDOWS 7
my BIOS is not corrupt because like i have said it installs windows XP fine, it has been doing this since i have bought the computer and I attributed it to the fact that i was trying to install a cracked version of VISTA. however my Windows 7 is NOT a cracked version.

the only reasonable answer is that my Bios is incompatible with VISTA or windows 7

also again it boots in windows by itself when it is installing, it is after all is done, after it is doing the registry settings, network settings and all that that it is AUTOMATICALLY SHUTTING DOWN.

When you got the computer, did it come with XP or did you do a clean install of XP. If it came with XP, then it cant run Windows 7. If you clean installed it, you should have tried to do an upgrade install, then a clean install, so it could update system hard drive and boot drivers.

it came with vista, home premium and i formatted the PC and installed XP because i hate vista. i later got a vista black and a vista ultimate and tried installing it with the same result.
now it does the same thing with windows 7
i always do clean install i never upgrade
all my drivers, etc are up to date because i always download them from manufacturer Acer website

Enter BIOS setup by tapping F-key given on first bootup screen (usually F2), make sure correct HD is set to boot first after DVD drive.

Make sure your HD's are set to "auto" detect in BIOS.

Remove the floppy drive from the boot order and disable it in BIOS drive detection.

While there take note of the BIOS version and compare to see if there is a more recent BIOS upgrade on your manufacturer's Support Downloads page for your model. This is crucial.

Check that the jumpers are set correctly on the drives ribbon cable (Master/Slave/Autoselect) and cables are connected tightly.

Make sure there is no CD/DVD in the drive.

You say that you are sure your drivers are all up to date because you download them from the Acer website, but the drivers in the Win7 installer are almost always more up to date, because MS sponsored the partnership with all manufacturers to build Win7 drivers, so they have them first.

Reinstall using the drivers which come with the installer, stay connected to the internet during install to get newer, and even newer in the first Windows Updates. Only use Acer Support drivers if there are missing ones in Device Manager.

When doing your clean reinstall, first use Darik's Boot n Nuke to completely zero your HD as the Vista Black bootleg you had on there could have corrupted the MBR, needs nuking.

after staying up all night and trying everything, I got vista to work and on my compatibility testing from Microsoft ( for upgrading to win7) it appears that my graphic card has issues, and although on the ATI website there is a driver for win 7, windows 7 itself does not recognize it and crashes after the welcome screen.
i will buy a new video card just to make sure, and I'll get an NVIDIA :):):)
if it's not that, i will throw the pc away ( in a very dramatic scene) and get a mac!

Try running Vista and Win7 video drivers in Vista compatibility mode

If it isn't already there, you are probably days away from a newer driver arriving via Windows Updates. Or check the vid card Support Downloads page; try every recent driver, then installed in compatibility mode.
