vista premium to windows 7 premium

    Hi All.

A couple of weeks ago i reinstall my vista premium OS. it said i could only do a clean install and i only had 30days to do it or it would expire, then i started getting "activate windows now" pop-ups

I can run through the WIN7 upgrade advisor and it says everything is great. What i need to know is whether or not i can upgrade to win7 when it's on this " days left till expiry" nonsense

    Thank You *in advance"

    Hi and welcome.

You need to activate Windows by going into the start menu, Control Panel then System (in classic mode - available in the left Panel).

Then, in that window, at the bottom, there should be a link to activate Windows. If your licence is legit, it will go through with no problem. Once it's done, just put the update disc in your drive and reboot on it and do an upgrade!

    Hope it helps.

Activate vista, type your product key in, if its a laptop it would be on the bottom, if its a pc on the back or side, if it wont activate you can free call microsoft and explain during activation - they supply the number after you enter the location. Type activation in search or right click computer then properties - when you find your vista product key. If you have the key you could try to do a by pass, but it seems like a senseless risk, and Im not sure either whether it would work.
