Yep, i already have the waik...been using features out of it for a while now.
Glad he posted the single file tho, as its a very large kit to download just for that one particular file, as he already mentioned.

@Baarod
When you imaged the wim across to the card, did it continue to install on the eeepc for you?
It didnt for me, hence my inf and registry changes

baarod should be able to help you out with that. The full package in iso form is something you would either burn to disk or mount on a virtual drive while the small upload should simplify things for you there.

Hi, well I have tried all the solutions to install windows 7 to a external USB drive, specially I those given by Ozzyguy and It didn't work, the USB drive doesn't even load.

I must mention that I am not a computer iletrate, so my trouble has nothing to do with selecting where to boot in the BIOS or something that trivial, my trouble is that windows 7 doesn't boot up from the USB drive where I install it.
The booting process begin and I get the error message :
0xc000000e

'required device is inaccesible'

If someone knows how to do it, or any tutorial on how to do it please tell me.

Please, keep it mind that it has NOTHING to do with installing windows FROM a usb drive, but to installing it TO a usb drive.

I don't know! Antman Someone had to drege up an old thread here.

The eSata attempt how did that go since you would be running direct off of the board's own sata controllers?

I can tell one thing about the drives they use for external usb housings. They make crummy host drives since those tend to see the slower best used for storage models to begin with.

I still have to take the WD Green Power model I removed from the external casing here off line since each clean install still ends up seeing problem after problem while the regular install inside second sata host formerly the XP drive works like a champ as the default!

The only usb drive any working 7 installation saw was lately being one installed to a virtual hard drive using the SUN Portable Virtual Box. The first installation quit in a few days time while the second has held up for over a week already. But talk about limitations?! No thanks! I'll take the XP mode over another one of those!

I don't purchase pre-assembled external drives. I build them - a QC thing and it's cheaper.

I chose not to install on an eSATA drive. If I can boot off the port on the mobo, I can boot off of the extension. No need to test that.

<=USB 2.0 is so '90s. Bring on USB 3... so I can finally get a new mobo.

Well that's one thing I've been looking at since 7 already has support for the new usb standard included. With the system I was a little disappointed in AMD's lengthy delay at seeing their own quad core cpu models finally and went for the dual core for the build. But everything is supported for 7 "except" the obvious! USB 3.0!

As far as the question on installing to an eSata type drive that was in reference to the threads you linked earlier there where that was something you mentioned on one of those two. You didn't mention if you had actually made the attempt or not since you haven't posted anything further besides the obvious "can't be done" remark! That was good!

Antman I was asking for someone know how to do it, not for someone not knowing how to do it. I don't know how to do it, so I don't ask to be told that it can't be done (because I already know it) I am looking for a way to do it.
Besides, the fact that you insists in that it can't be done is your own opinion. A co-worker has windows 7 running on a external usb drive, he says that his brother-in-law set it up, but doesn't have a clue on how he did it, so I know it is possible. Indeed ozzyguy also got it.... so.. it must be possible.

If you search around the web there's probably one or two blogs written on how to go abour custom installing 7 on an external drive while likely the drive was moved inside the case first for the installation and then placed back in the external enclosure to see that work.

There's one big problem with any external installation however through the usb bus. The installation is actually cut off from the rest of the system for the most part.

Even the custom install of 7 on a usb flash drive by way of the SUN Portable Virtual Box is only good for a look at the new taskbar and themes and a few other things while not being a practical installation for everday use! Forget any gaming ideas from the start there! Plus most addon devices will not work since you are not able to install device drivers as well as any new hardwares.

The solution for this is simply to use the same method used for seeing 7 go onto a vhd on a usb flash drive using the Portable VBox program. You simply unpack the PVB onto the external drive and run the executable in order to first create the vhd needed and then proceed to install 7 on that by having the PVB program running in order to start up the 7 installer from inside the virtual environment.

SDHC card not recognized
We just bought an 8GB SDHC Transcend micro SD card from amazon. I did not realize there were probs. I put it directly into my tower in the card slot and nothing pops up. If I put my regular old 2GB micro SD in the slot, it immediately pops up, but not the SDHC card. Is there a fix for this?...
