The DV6000 has been released with a few different graphics options, do you know which graphics chip yours has?
Mine is NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M.
Have you tried the latest nVidia drivers for that chip?

I don't recall if i've tried the NVidia 179. I know i tried an NVidia driver not too long ago. It might have been the next-latest version. In any case, it didn't work. Regular install, compatibility mode, etc. Nothing works. I either get errors or it finishes the install, reboots, and i see no difference.

I just verified that my model of laptop IS compatible with 7. Not sure what i'm doing wrong. Thanks for any help.

I have no idea what your problem is... This is what happens when you post a problem in someone elses thread ( Hijacking ) Please start your own thread, specific to your own problem...the server has plenty of room...

Did the graphics appear correctly at any time since install?

Your problem sometimes arises from a bad Windows Update which could be uninstalled if you can pinpoint time.

I believe you have another thread on here where I linked the Nvidia beta driver earlier. Try it again.

    Good looking out guys

Good looking out guys! That had to be one of the most stressful things I've had to deal with lately. All that hair pulling and it came down to using a different disk. I tried the Windows 7 Home Premium that I downloaded from Microsoft and an OEM version of Vista along with an older copy of XP. Nothing would install without locking at the driver issue. Just for sh%^&ts and giggles I tried a friends Windows 7 Ultimate and it installed perfect within 10 minutes. Needless to say I don't really know for sure what the problem was but got it running afterwards and thats all that matters. Sorry about the hissy fit I had. You guys surely know how annoying these things can get at times. Especially when things make no sense at all. Merry Christmas! and Thanks for everything.
