    Deletion of Old OS (Vista)

I have two OS' (Windows 7/Windows Vista) on two separate hard disks in a dual-boot configuration. What I want to do is delete Vista to free up some storage space. However when I tried this before (I deleted the partition on the Vista hard disk), Windows 7 (on the other hard disk))did not boot. I think the boot settings for both OS' might be on the Vista hard drive. Is there any way I can get rid of Vista whilst ensuring that Windows 7 actually boots?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If it was me, I would just do a clean install on the drive I want to be my primary hard drive. It's best to unplug the other drive until after the Windows 7 install is done.

Clean installs always work better and are much less prone to problems and such.

I think that a clean install is the best way. In bios set your computer to boot from the DVD. Put your DVD in drive and then boot. You will come to a screen that asks if you want a clean install or upgrade, choose custom. You will be doing the custom/clean install. But first select advanced options, then delete want you want, then configure the partitions the way you want and then format the drive that the OS will be located. When done just continue the install. When done you have a brand new OS no problems. The biggest annoyance is that you have to reinstall your programs, but now you are done.

Wait a minute here, no need to be that drastic. Pull the cable from the vista drive, then put the win7 install disc in and boot to it, select repair. It should find the win7 install and put the boot loader on the drive for you, then you just change the boot order to boot that hard drive first. You can then do whatever you want with the other drive.
