A doubt about formating my Aspire

    Hello people and happy holidays.
Well, thanks to your advices I had a successful installation of the Windows 7.
However, I want to ask some more things.
I put the Windows 7 professional 64 bit edition (official and original) but I still have on the other disk the XP version.
Shall I just format that disk and nothing else or do I have to reinstall the windows 7 formatting both disks.

    And the second question.
Although my cd is original or it is supposed to be(as a student in Greek university I have free microsoft software) I cant activate my windows. It says that the key is invalid.

    Pararam!!!!

    That's it.

I will be waiting for you and thank you again

Just to clarify, you have two hard drives in the computer? If you do, then you do not have to format the 2nd one to install windows. You can leave it alone.

I assume that you did a clean install of W7, because that is the only way to do it with XP. If you are concerned about the authentication of the W7 install, this should only become an issue if you ever need to reactivate W7 on the telephone, rather than just online automatically. Therefore, keep your XP key available if necessary.

As far as it not accepting your key, continue on without entering it, and after the installation has finished, try entering it via the link at the bottom of System Properties. If that gives you problems, then use the method described here:

I have one hard disk but it is in two parts:C and D.
Now on C I have windows 7 and on D XP.
I want to clean up the XP disk because I dont need them anymore and I am more than happy with the 7
But it seems that I cant just format that disk.
And about the activation. I have already installed the 7. It just needs activation online and when I ask it to do it it says that my key is not the good one but in fact it doesnt even ask me for a key
I hope I was clearer than before
    Hehehe

Here is the scoop on your error code...

    Error code 0xC004C008

    Symptom

When you try to use KMS to activate one or more computers, you may receive the following error message: 0xC004C008
The activation server determined that the specified product key could not be used.

    Cause

This issue may occur if the KMS key has exceeded the activation limit. KMS keys will activate up to 10 times on six different computers. Workaround

If you need more activation times, contact the PA Call Center.

Contact the program administrator at your school ....

I don't imagine that there is a problem with your key. Did you look at the link I gave in post #3 above?

EDIT: Nevermind, it looks as though Tews has it covered.

Simply call your school where you got your disc from and explain that they need to authorize more activations for the key they gave you... its a simple procedure and nothing that you need worry about.... Good Luck!!

It seems that MediaBootInstall is 0 without needing me to change it
Shall I continue with the next steps?
