    Drive data disappears after installing xp


    MY DRIVE DATA DISSEAPPEAR AFTER INSTALLING XP:-
    today i install windows XP- install audio driver then i open my G DRIVE (my songs drive) to check audio.
    it was empty then i check its properies it shows
    USED 11 GB
    FREE 20 GB
    as usual but it was empty
    then i check disk G DRIVE for errors & then reinstall xp on formating C drive
    after setup windows second time i open G DRIVE. it was still empty but when i see its properties it says:-
    USED 0 BYTE
    FREE 0 BYTE
    CAPACITY 0 BYTE
    PLZ HELP ME TO RECOVER MY DATA.

    I AM ATTATCHING ITS PROPERTIES.


    it says like this- see 2nd attatchment

    its probably hidden. to view it go to tools in the menu bar, then folder options, then view, then show hidden files an there it is!!!

    sorry didn't see second picture. you are going to have to reformat that drive to even make it accessible I'm afraid.

    Please post back a screenshot of your full Disk Management map.

    Yeah G: data is gone. I'm not sure how you did it, maybe had something to do with it being extended partition. I won't use those myself.

    Did you check on D and F drives?

hi, using Win 7 64-bit ... when i insert cd/dvd in my sony dvd riter, it just disappears from windows explorer & power goes off just for it ... so cant even remove cd/dvd ... have to reboot pc for dvd drive to appear again ... tried removing/uninstall the hardware from device manager & installing...

DVD drive disappears

Hi. My Sony Optiarc DVD drive keeps disappearing from 'Devices with Removable Storage'. Sometimes I look and it's reappeared including whatever disc is in it, but then after a while it vanishes again. The drive physically works, flashing light comes on when disc is inserted, opens and closes fine....
Hello peeps... I have a system drive on a workstation which is 1) removable, 2) contains 2 partitions - one for the sytem & data files, one reserved by the os. I would like to use this drive and it's file data in an external drive case (SATA) connected to my notebook. Is this possible?...
