Please provide Disk Management and EasyBCD 2.0 screenshots to advise you correctly.

Otherwise there is no telling what needs to be undone before a Dual Boot can be correctly configured.

Full snips of Partition Wizard and EasyBCD 2.0 (uploaded for you earlier) would tell us the most.

You'll need to install Net Framework 2.0 to run Easy in XP.

Well, I do not understand how you are now booting to XP and not Win 7---what happened?? It is easy to add XP to a windows 7 boot menu, but not so easy the other way.

If you changed the active partition, and there can only be one on a drive, you probably made the XP partition the bootable one.

Do you see a bootmgr file or Boot folder in the root directory of the XP partition?

Sorry I haven't done this yet. Snowy conditions have meant that children are at home using PCs, but I'm not.

I'm afraid that I surrendered. It was easier to solve the issues that kept me using XP. (One was a WiFi dongel with no 7 drivers. One was a device that, it turned out, upset the DEP. The main one was all my daughter's SIMS3 stuff ).
So now my daughter is on a fully WIN7 machine. With SIMS3 data restored from a backup.

I'm sorry that I couldn't go down the dual boot route - but at the end of the day, my daughter's machine is for her benefit.

I would suggest you buy BootItNG from TerabyteUnlmited. It is a phenomenal boot and hdd manager. Includes BCD editing utility. It supports a very large number of primary partitions and drives.

I have been using it for more than 8 years and has never let me down. Check it out, you won't regret it.
