Vaio laptop wont boot from cd

My Vaio Laptop can boot from a regular win 7 with no problem, the reapir option is not working to fix the computer so I want to use another bootable CD to diagnose the proble, but simply wont boor from another bootable CD but win 7 instal DVD, I try Hirens 10.1 CD, basic bootable xp lite with diagnostics, and so on, and the only CD that can boot from is the win 7 instal, any ideas?, I'm going crazy with this, by the way the CD's that I want to use they work in another computer ok

    Welcome!

This is extremely confusing to me. I will take your word for it, I will assume everything you said is correct. I have never seen anything like that before, and I must confess I do not even know what to search Google for.

Try resetting your BIOS. There is an option in the BIOS to do so. Another thing you can try is updating your BIOS.

What do you mean that your repair options are not working on the Win7 DVD?

What happens when you choose "Repair My Computer" on the second screen after booting the DVD?

What are you attempting to repair?

Did you make the Repair CD from Windows 7 "Create a System Repair DIsk"?

    Thank You and Follow up

Than you both for your aswers, to follow up on your opinions, yes as Jhonathan said, I have never seen something like this either, since the win 7 DVD work, but no other, just like that

In the other hand, when I run System Repair, it returns a "cant fix the problem .....", in some other option after tahat, it search for a problem, an reports that nothing is found wrog, so restart and again goes to the win 7 instal window instead of the regular system, the onlu thing I can think of id that the win 7 is a DVD and the others are CD, but I notice in a browse window inside the win 7 system repair process that the CD's show up like letter x, that's the other only detail

When you enter the Repair console, does it search for and find a Win7 installation to repair?

What does that listing say exactly?

Let's try some recovery commands to see if you can get Startup Repair to work:

After booting DVD into Repair Console, Click through to list of Recovery Tools, open a Command Line and type:

    bootrec.exe /fixboot
    bootrec.exe /fixmbr

Reboot, if Win7 won't start reboot into DVD to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times to see if it will start. If not, return to Command Line and type:

    Bootsect.exe /nt60 all /force

Reboot, if Win7 won't start again boot DVD to try Startup Repair up to 3 separate times as it runs multiple tests then attempts its own fixes.
