    Re-Build

    Hi all,

I'm just prepping things for a re-build and thought I'd just ask the question,

Has anyone re-built using 7100 RC build and had any probs advice in carying it out? I have some issues creep into my build and want to see if a fresh build will solve those problems.

I have not yet purchased win 7 but have a valid download of the 7100 rc client that I believe is still curent until June of this year (at which point i'll be grabbing a retail version).

I have everything backed up and copies of all drivers etc etc.

    cheers!

    Hi,

Do you mean about upgrading from 7100 RC to another build ?

I thought the BETA builds were crippled as from March 2010...

You can do a 120 days activation tweak on the final release product, so why would you want to still use the BETA...

Aren't you forced into restarting every couple of hours beginning in March?? Something like that.

You can't update the RC, nor can you still download them from Microsoft. If you have build 7100RC then that's all you can use - but like I said earlier, why bother when you can tweak the activation on a retail product to 120 days

    Hey,
Just ran the exe to show this screen. does appear that my evaluation runs till the 6th June.
I need to re-install so i imagine my count will go down to 2 (which is not an issue for me). though as i originally asked 'Has anyone re-built using 7100 RC build and had any probs advice in carying it out? I have some issues creep into my build and want to see if a fresh build will solve those problems.

    cheers for the link Qdos.

That'd be correct. It'll pack up at that point completely. However in March it will begin behaving like nagware and forcing reboots etc, reminding you to shell out for the final build and pay homage to Microsoft...
