    Do I need to re-install Win 7 64bit ?

After some thougt I intalled Win 7 -64 bit and guess what - I received new software that is not compatible with 64 bit version. Adobe PHOTOSHOP Premier Version 8.

So the question is - is there any way to run this new OS as both 64 bit AND 32 bit without re-installing? both win 7 or will I have to install vista first?

Previously this pc had Vista 32 bit before the clean install.

    ANy help is appreciated.

Just install it as is.. Should be find. You will find that there is still a lot of 32 bit programs out there which are not 64 bit yet. Some you may have to change the way that Win7 looks at it by using the right click properties and run as.. GL :)

AvJay5 - I myself haven't used Photoshop Elements... If it works in Vista mode then you will likely have no issues with it in Win7... GL :)
Most programs I'm using are 32 bit programs for XP and Vista and I'm running Win7 in 64 bit mode... GL :)

You haven't installed the program, so I am guessing you believe it is not compatible with 64-bit because of something written on the package??

That could mean that the program has a 16 bit installer. I know that earlier versions of Photoshop have 16 bit installers and will not install on a 64 bit system.

If the package says it won't work, I would believe it.

You can uninstall 64 bit Windows and install 32 bit, but you can't legally use both on the same system. I'm not even sure you can install and run 32 and 64 bit illegally without a different key.

Let us know how Photoshop Elements 8 runs in 64 bit.

Check the 64 bit Program Files to see if it installed there or in 32 bit folder. Either/or.

No Problem installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 8. It was quick and painless. The program installed in Program Files x86 which I learned that it is where the 32 bit programs are stored (thanks to this forum).

The software included Adobe Premier Elements 8 and I had to remove the Disk and re-inserted. Once this was done it too installed without problems.

My initial reaction is - wow - programs runs quick and smooth. I think I'll be enjoying it.
