Alter bootloader to leave only XP

I may have done the wrong thing. I was running XP Home and the Evaluation version of Windows 7 and I read that I could delete the Win 7 partition and then do bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force from C:\boot folder but that doesn't work as I cannot see a bootsect.exe in C:\boot.
So although I am left with my XP Home working I need to remove the Win 7 reference in the boot options (7 or XP).
How can I do this please, is there another way?
    Thanks.

    Run a repair install,
    Or,
    BCDedit

Could you please walk me through BCDEdit? does it work with XP? I have deletd my Windows 7 partition already.
    Thanks

OK, panic over.EasyBCD did the trick for me! When I said BCDEdit above, I meant EasyBCD, sorry, my brain hurts.

Thanks for the update Bertie. I am glad it worked. Also because I have no experience with EasyBCD...

Blimey, the blind leading the blind!

I'd never used it before either so it was heart in mouth time, it's my wife's machine!

Oh, you were really taking big risks... :)

I never needed it and never had the time to explore the program. I am glad it worked fine for you!

Who dares wins, I suppose. I got away with it this time, next time...

Actually, it was easy as the name suggests. I didn't like the look of the other one- BCDEdit, a command line job, I much preferred the UI of EasyBCD.
