    upgrade 32bit or 64 bit?

Hi, i bought a used Dell inspiron 1501 with XP pro and thinking about goin to win 7. I got no disc's with it .My question is after goin to win 7 will i have a problem when it comes time to REINSTALL win 7 at a later date (2-3 years) from the UPGRADE dvd as there will be no previous OS on it.

Also it has the 64 bit AMD 64 dual core running @ 1.8ghz i believe with 2 gig ram which is shared w video.will it run the 64 bit version well??? MAX ram is 2 GIG should I install 32 bit or 64 bit???

    THANKS in advance Robert...

It will, but with the memory you have, you wont notice any difference from the 32 bit version... MS recommends a minimum of 4gb of memory for 64bit...

    Clean Install Windows 7

Here is a link to our tutorial regarding a clean install, with an upgrade DVD, when there is no OS installed. I think that after you read this you will see how it easy it will be to install a few years from now.

It actually was answered by Tews. I did not answer but I agree with Tews. 2gb or less stay with 32. Others will come on and disagree. I do not think that it will be worth your while to go with 64. Although limited, there are problems with 64, with appl etc. I just had one poster who could not get her printer to work with 64.
