I was installing Windows 7 from a dvd. I dont have a vista dvd. I have a recovery file....however its on the computer and i cant access it. Secondly the only thing i can access is the Boot Menu (Pressing f12 when computer is booting).

If yu can access boot menu you need to insure that dvd is checked so that you can boot from it

Do you have your files backed up?

If so, boot the DVD and do a clean install. It may save your files in a windows.old folder.

If you don't have your files backed up, call MS tech support to roll back to Vista. Back up your files and clean install which is a much better install anyway.
