Yipeee!!!...things seem to be working okay now. i am able to choose from which OS i want to boot up after a restart and it seems both OS systems are working. i just need to download the drivers for my XP side. do i download the driver from Acer's website for my network adaptor? it shows that my particular model does not include any XP drivers but i can download the LAN driver for windows 7. should i do that?

    thanks again

Google the maker's website and go directly there to the Support Downloads page to look up your model adapter's XP driver.

Once you get that installed, give Windows Updates a day or two to come up with the other drivers, then begin hunting them down according to which are needed most for performance. Others can wait.

The first place to check is your computer maker's Support Downloads webpage for your model computer, then the device maker's webpage for device model, then Google the exact device name for where others have found it.

No need to rush except for the wireless adapter to get on line.
