    Newbie to X64 question

I currently run XP on my 250g HD(drive1) and have a second HD for data only.(music pictures etc) I bought win 7 pro back in Oct. Due to a new home and uncertainty to my question below, i have delayed installing.
But i cannot wait any longer.

    I wish to install Win 7 X64

I realize that a format and back up of drive 1 is in order.

Will a format of drive 2 also be required? Even if i will continue to use it as data only?
My system spec is current under my profile.

    Thanks in advance.

As long as it is data only you should not. If there are libraries on the data drive it might be a little more complicated.

    Thank you Ken.

There should be no libraries on the drive. It was added just to store all of the music of mine and pictures for the wife. I will confirm prior to making the jump. Thanks for the advise!!!

Nope, as long as you got it on a differnt partition then you should be fine. Now to be on the safe side. you coud always disconnect the power cable to the 2nd hard drive so you dont make any mistakes and accidently delete it.

when you do a clean customer install make sure you click on advance and then format the partiton/drive you want to install windows 7 on
