Perfect, that folder contains the full clean-copy Win7 installer.

Follow this tutorial to compile into an ISO: Bootable ISO - Create from Installation Files

You can burn it to DVD from the same drop down menu on the page where the ISO is compiled. Works great.

Then boot the DVD to install.

Did you install Vlite 1.2 over version 1.1.6? Do that first.

Agree it was unnecessary hurdle Sony threw up to try to enforce their bloatware. But you beat them at it and now have the cleanest possible install.

When you get Win7 setup like you want, be sure to save externally a Win7 backup image so you never need to reinstall again, just reimage the HD or a replacement using the DVD or Repair CD in 15 minutes.

If you didn't make the bootable Win7 DVD, be sure to make a Repair CD in the Backup Center too. You need this to repair or reimage Win7 if it won't start.

Windows 7 x64

Is there a restore partition on the hard drive that might restore Vista?

Yes, you said that Sony Tech Support told you that you should have made Vista Recovery Disks. Did you attempt this while you had Vista on there?

If not and you still have a Vista recovery partition, unhide System and Hidden files in Control Panel>Folder Options and post back a screenshot of the contents IF you want to now make a Vista recovery DVD.

Then you can recover that space into your HD when you need it.
