Questions on re-installing windows 7 pro upgrade

    Hi,
I have been having some gaming problems on windows 7 professional, and have decided to do a clean install. I have the windows 7 pro upgrade from Digital River(I got the student discount) and was wondering:

    a) Can I stick the cd in and simply do a clean install?

    b) Or do I need to make a recovery disk?

    c) Do I have to re-install xp for the upgrade to work?

    d) will there be any problems with the windows key?

    Thanks in advance,
    JCLemon

I suggest reading this (clean install with upgarde license):

There should be no problem activating again online, if there have been no major hardware changes since Win7 was activated. At worst, you'll have to activate by phone.

You do not need to reinstall XP, or delete your current Win7.

If you boot the Win7 DVD to do a Custom clean install, the DVD will scan the HD and see the previous installation to allow Upgrade version key.
You can then use Drive Tools to format the partition before install.
