Does Windows 7 Format Automatically?
Greetings,
I just built a new system with all new components and installed Windows 7 (full version) on two brand new WD5001AALS hard drives in RAID 0. All went well, and the system is up and running and everything seems to be working smoothly so far. Here is my concern:
After I completed the installation of Windows 7, I remembered that it never asked me to create a partition and format the RAID 0 drive before installation. When I look at Drive C properties under Windows it says the drive is formatted (NTFS). I don't remember the thing ever going though a formatting stage before installation. Under Windows XP this stage took forever on a drive half the size of my new one. Does Windows 7 somehow manage to do this automatically and at blinding speed, or is the drive really formatted at all?
