Im not sure if I know how to do that exactly... The Boot Order is
USB Floppy
ATAPI CD/DVD ROM Drive
Notebook Hard Drive
USB Diskette on Key
USB Hard Drive
Network Adapter
I have the PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility Open. It says Factory installed OS : Vista. It doesn't look like it gives me an option to change anything under the main tab. Boot Options is the only thing I can change and that is the boot order
I really appreciate all of your help. I would never figure this out be myself...I moved USB HD to the top with Notebook Hard Drive next. When the computer starts now turns on and off over and over again after it comes to the initial black start up screen .I am still not sure if I even have the correct driver installed on the USB.
right, set the cd/dvd to first boot ,the usb hdd to second boot and move the notebook hdd to the last place ,insert your win7 disc in the dvd and reboot ,that should start the setup installation on the way remember to press any key to boot from dvd
I'm not certain which BIOS that your system uses. On mine it requires tapping the Delete key at the first BIOS screen to enter it. Your's may require a different key, but it should say which on that first BIOS screen. The BIOS settings window will appear after the BIOS screens and before the Windows start screen. Once inside, the settings are divided into several group. I would suggest going through all of them for the sake of familiarity. Since the arrangement varies, I can't tell you exactly which to check, but you need first to determine that the BIOS sees the drive, which should make it apparent that it's controller is enabled properly.
It sounds as though you are using a flash drive as the installation medium, so that must be your first device in Boot Priority, followed by the harddrive that you are installing on. After getting the settings right, be sure to save them before exiting. Hopefully, once this is done, the installation will see the harddrive.
