    Can not select install partition

I have a computer with windows 7 preinstalled. I have configured the hard drive to have an extra partition, for the installation of XP.

However when XP(sp-2) is being booted from the CD, I do not get any prompts about where to install it.

It does try to install itself, but then an error message comes up "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer"

Windows 7 boots normal if the xp cd is not in the drive.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks.

I have reviewed the dual boot tutorial. (Window 7 installed first)

I do not get the same screens when installing my windows xp. It procedes to attempt install with no options to select location.

Maybe this is because I am using XP-SP2 home edition and I need XP-Pro?

    Thanks,

    Tobi
