hi there as I mentioned in another post I am getting new hardware (motherboard, CPU, PSU) I have installed windows 7 Pro 64bit Upgrade on my pc, my question is when I have put all the new hardware in I will have to boot from the Windows 7 disc of course, would it be possible to click Repair instead of doing a reinstall?
I’m not sure what the repair thing is and if it would be a quicker/easier way of doing it

Why not just try it first after making the hardware changes. I think you'd be surprised at how well Windows 7 can identify and load the needed drivers. It's definitley a more robust system than XP was where drivers are concerned.
I've moved hard drives from one computer to another several times, rebooted and XP went ahead and found all the new hardware. I would expect Windows 7 to be even better at it.
Nothing to lose if you have your data backed up, you can always do a clean install if it doesn't work.
I put the question to my class instructor and he said XP it was possible ( hasn't used 7). He has had it go both ways. I must say my experience with rebuilds hasn't been too smooth. I must admit I am impressed with how far these MS OS's have come. I am pretty sure you will have to do a fresh installation and re-activate your windows.

You have to reinstall. If you were able to do a repair, it would be no better than an upgrade, which is a big NO, NO in this forum.
