    Change hard drive and need help


    i did have two hard drives in my computer two ide hard drives one of the ide hard driver are going out and i bought i 160 gb sata drive so i could rma my ide hard drive i loaded my ghost to the 160Gb sata but it is still booting form my primary ide hard drive does any one know how to fix this

    i think you need to go into your bios and change it to boot of you new drive

    Yes, Andy is correct. In your BIOS, change the default boot drive to your new SATA one.

    In many BIOS'es you have to choose a default hard drive. Make sure the right hard drive is selected, and the hard drive is set to boot first.

    You can also try disconnecting the old drive. Maybe the new one cannot boot, and you need to run Startup Repair.

    Unplug the old HD, boot Win7 DVD Repair console, click through to recovery tools list, run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots as it needs to attempt repair and possibly rewrite MBR to cloned HD.
