Your working too hard at this... If you have a 64 bit DVD -
i can guarantee i will be able to find a copy
just do a clean install using your current key.

got it working guys. for anyone else looking for a solution to this:

    *i dl'd a copy of Win 7 Pro X64 online (can't tell you where...)
    *created a DVD ISO
*did a clean install via boot DVD
*used my key for the 32-bit version i purchased

worked perfectly. thanks for everyones input.
