Windows 7 Upgrade Install Compatibility report

    Hello guys,
I'm trying to do a repair install with Windows 7 (doing upgrade but having the same version) and at Compatibility report it says that it is recommended to uninstall the following:

    ATI CATALYST Install Manager *
    ATI Catalyst Control Center *
I've already done a previous Upgrade install but from another version (7100 to 7600) like a month ago and I didn't check the compatibility report and I've did it anyway and I didn't have any problems with the ATi Catalyst Control Center or the other one just to a program called MagicDisc (a virtual dvd manager).
So I'm a little worried about this and I don't wanna uninstall ATI catalyst center, so do you think it's not gonna happen anything again?

    Thanks!

NOTE: I wanna do a upgrade install without uninstalling ATI Catalyst. I hope there won't be problems.

    Welcome!

Don't worry about that. Of course the program is compatible, as testified to by the fact you are using it now!

I am using MagicDisc too, and despite the recommendation, I didn't remove it, and I haven't had any problems.

When I ran my report it said that Catalyst was incompatible, and to remove before the install of Windows 7,and then reinstalled after the installtions. I followed instructions and had no problems with the install of 7 or with Catalyst, now.

If you decide to uninstall catalyst there is no problem with the reinstallation.

    Thanks for the answer!

Also, I have another question for you: is there a way I can enlarge my C partition without deleting all from it? My D partition is 500 GBs and I wanna put some GBs to C from D, is there a way I can do that because it won't let me do any upgrade install, since I have only 11 GBs left on C and I need like 12 to do the upgrade install and I don't have anything on C, just Windows.

I'm stuck.. so is there a way I can add more GBs to C? I tried with Disk Management but it won't let me click Enlarge, the button is gray.

    Thanks!

Sure, that shouldn't be a problem.

First, could you please post a screenshot of your Disk Management window? Use the snipping tool found in the start menu.

Unfortunately, you cannot shrink volumes from the beginning, only from the end, using Disk Management. First, Shrink the D partition in Disk Management. Then you will need to move the volume.

Use a third-party partition manager, like Partition Wizard, and move the D partition to the end of the drive. Then you can extend the C partition.

The partition will not be hard to do. Any questions, just post, take your time and it will turn out fine.

Thanks for the quick answer, again.

So, let me explain myself better. I wanna add 2 more GBs from D to C. (that would be 2024 MBs, right?) So, can you please explain me, if you have time, or you can please post a mini-tutorial if you can and want?

That would be sooo awesome. Thanks again for helping me!

There are two that may apply, I will get the other.

Partition or Volume - Create New

    Partition or Volume - Shrink

Look these over and then just ask any quesitons, that you may have.

No, please follow my instructions above. You first need to shrink D, then move it with Partition Wizard. Then you can extent the C partition.
