Install Windows 7 from a Virtual Drive? again

Some ppl have confirmed that installing win 7 from a virtual dvd drive (Virtual Clone Drive or Daemon Tools Lite) is working.

Now i have another concern about the CPU working mode:

If i have a 32bit Vista, can i still install a 64bit windows 7 in this way? (upgrade or fresh installation)

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

For upgradation, there are some parameters to match, if they are all ok, there is no problem at all.
For a fresh installation, install it as the normal installation. It will start automatically when the virtual drive is mounted, or you may need to double click it. Choose the Advanced option, specify the partition in which it is sought to be installed, and then as per regular way.

After the installation completed, you will see a folder in your c drive named windows.old. You may just delete that

You may have some help here : Repair Install .(the difference is that the tutorial is installation from within win7 and using a real drive, and your situation is installation from within vista and using a virtual drive )

You can't run or mount 64 bit installer from a 32 bit OS. You'll need to boot installer.

Sorry Greg ! Sorry DeX ! I overlooked the 32 bit thing.
But one thing I really dont know. If it is not possible to boot from a virtual drive, How a clean installation could be done in this way? If the system supports booting from USB drive, I think it is better to copy the installer into a USB drive and boot from it to get a clean installation.

You can either boot the Win7 DVD or create a USB flash stick installer using this tutorial method:

USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create

Sometimes one method doesn't work, so hit us back if you need to try another. In my case, for example, I just format my Kingston Data Traveler stick Primary, then copy the files into its root and it boots under hard drives.
